Mission Clarity: Renewing Congregations for the Mission of God

Your congregation is an active part of the Mission of our Triune God. Not only is it a sacred space where God nourishes and feeds his people, it is also a place that is sent. God has given his people the privilege of being recipients, and partners in His Mission. This is a grand story. However, sometimes leaders and congregations can get so overwhelmed with ministry that the beauty and clarity of this mission can grow dull. It’s easy to disconnect the theology of mission with the everyday practice of mission which fosters unhealthy ministry and hinders renewal.

Afternoon

12:20 PM — Hymn, Scripture, & Prayer
12:30 PM — Workshop #1 Options
Missional Worship Service: The Worship Service System serves as a public witness to the gospel, inviting both insiders and outsiders into a rhythm of grace, truth, and sacred encounter. The Worship Service reveals your theological convictions, cultural tone, and missional heartbeat. When thoughtfully designed, the service doesn’t just reflect the church’s DNA—it reinforces and reproduces it.

Missional Discipleship : The Discipleship System, when designed with intentionality, is a powerful incubator for missional formation. It’s more than learning the Scriptures. Discipleship is about shaping a worldview, cultivating spiritual habits, and preparing believers to live as missionaries in their daily lives.

1:20 PM — Workshop #2 Options
Missional Hospitality: The Hospitality System in a congregation is far more than a warm handshake and a welcome sign—it’s a strategic ministry of hospitality that shapes how visitors experience the congregation, perceive the gospel, the church’s mission, and their potential place within it. A church’s Hospitality System is the gateway to spiritual engagement.

Missional Assimilation:  The Assimilation System in a congregation is the bridge between a visitor’s first encounter and their full participation in the life and mission of the church. When thoughtfully designed, it helps people move from attending, to belonging and serving in the body of Christ.

2:10 PM — Workshop #3 Options
Missional Communications: The Communications System serves as the voice of its mission, strategically sharing stories, events, and invitations that connect the church with its surrounding community. By leveraging digital platforms, print media, and personal messaging, it extends the gospel beyond the walls and cultivates relationships that lead to deeper engagement and transformation.

Missional Outreach: The Outreach System exists to extend the presence of Christ beyond the gathered church through evangelism, service, and mission. It aligns the church’s activity with God’s redemptive movement toward all people by equipping and mobilizing believers to live sent lives that proclaim the gospel in word and deed.
